Net Languages launches new General English course with Speech Recognition Exercises

English and Spanish course provider Net Languages has launched a new version of its 8-level General English online course.

In collaboration with the speech recognition service provider Carnegie Speech, Net Languages has incorporated a wide variety of speech recognition exercises into the online course material. Using the latest technology, students will now have:

  • more opportunities to work on their pronunciation
  • more opportunities to practise their speaking
  • access to a more interactive course with a wider variety of exercise types
  • increased motivation, engagement and enjoyment of the course

The new course importantly works on all current iOS and Android tablets as well as Windows and Mac computers. And according to Net Languages's feedback from the pilot projects, it looks set to deliver a positive, enjoyable and pedagogically strong learner experience.

Net Languages was founded at the beginning of 1998 by a team of people who had previously been working together at IH Barcelona. They launched their first course in 1999, and since then it has developed a very wide range of English language courses which cater for students of all ages and levels of ability.
