International House Language Centre Palermo is going to turn 45 in 2020 and preparations and celebrations have already begun!
To celebrate the start of its 45th anniversary International House Language Centre Palermo had a very special day out with the whole team where a member of staff , who is an expert in Greek history, gave a tour of the magnificent archaeological site of Segesta with a temple and Greek theatre. Members of staff from various countries enjoyed some team building activities, exploration and some lovely traditional Sicilian food.
The celebrations continued with a Christmas party where staff, students and the live band Tre Terzi met in a local club to eat the traditional Italian Panettone, dance, do a fun quiz and have a few drinks.
Quite a few prizes were part of the Christmas raffle and quiz including vouchers towards language courses, Eco-friendly IH Italy aluminium water bottles and recyclable canvas bags.
And there’s more!
To give back to the community which has helped the business grow over the years they have also organised (for the second year in a row) a Reverse Advent Calendar! Why reverse? This is because in this case participants don’t get a prize or some chocolate but instead they help collect goods, food or clothing for those in need and help to make their Christmas better! This year they are aiming to collect at least 400 items, so if anyone wishes to contribute and help them reach (or beat it!) their target you can get in touch with them on firstname.lastname@example.org
And what will happen in the New Year? Apparently they are planning many interesting surprises with more celebrations to come including a 2020 photo contest.
We look forward to hearing more about what they are up to in 2020.
