We offer General English courses to young learners and adults, face to face and online, for groups and one-to-ones. As well as General English, we offer group exam preparation courses for IELTS and Cambridge English KEY A2, PRELIMINARY B1, FIRST B2 and ADVANCED C2 exams.
International House Language Centre Palermo is an officially authorsied centre for Cambridge Assessment English, IELTS and TOEFL® iBT exams and prepares candidates for the full range of these international exams. We have a long history of focusing on and developing our students’ communication skills and are very proud of the progress our students make towards being able to use their English in the real world.
International House Language Centre in Palermo was established in 1975 by Patricia Durden. A well as English language programmes, the school also provides Italian Language Courses for all ages and levels and Teacher Training programmes. International House Language Centre in Palermo was established in 1975 by Pat Durden. The school provides teacher training programmes both online and face-to-face.
The School is a Cambridge Assessment English Authorised Teacher Training Centre, offering face to face and online CELTA training.
The Cambridge CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) is the world’s most widely-recognised entry-level credential for teaching EFL (English as a Foreign Language). It is highly regarded throughout the world by organisations which employ English language teachers and regulated at Level 5 of the Qualifications and Credit Framework.
The CELTA course is delivered by expert teacher trainers and provides you with a unique opportunity to combine focussed input sessions with practical teaching opportunities where you’ll work with real students, as well as feedback on your teaching and invaluable observation opportunities.
International House Language Centre Palermo offers CELTA teacher training courses in a four-week face-to-face intensive format or with an extensive blended learning option for those who prefer to take the course over a longer period.
As well as the CELTA course, International House Language Centre also offers the IH Certificate in teaching Young Learners and Teenagers to those teachers who would like to specialise in teaching students between the age of 6 to 17 years old. This course is assessed by the International House World Organisation Assessment Unit and moderated by Cambridge Assessment English.
The centre also provides TKT and TKT CLIL exam preparation, seminars for state school teachers and continual professional development for its teachers.
