Whatever you want to do in life, speaking English will greatly contribute to your success: it will boost your career prospects, offer more opportunities for work and leisure and expand your social circle. Whether you are a beginner, an improver or an advanced user of English, our English language courses will help you make great progress. If you need English for professional reasons or for academic study, we can help you get the grades you require in IELTS, Cambridge ESOL or Trinity ESOL exams. We are Bristol’s Cambridge/OET/IELTS exam centre so students can prepare and take their exam in one place. In fact, our Cambridge and IELTS exam package courses include the cost of the exam

If you want to practise and improve your English during the school holidays, we offer a variety of courses for both adults and juniors. Many students choose to combine holiday programmes with one of our specialist courses to maximise their learning while having fun. And for  more mature students, who want to combine language and culture, we have our Best of Bristol 45+ course.

As a CELTA teacher training centre, we are always learning the latest methods to ensure quality teaching and language-learning success. Our Foreign Teachers of English (FTE) course means teachers from around the world can update their classroom skills while refreshing their English.

At International House Bristol, we are passionate about teaching and about supporting you as you learn: we’ll ensure you speak English from the first day, and our approach means you will soon be speaking, reading, writing and listening in English.

Named “Best place to live in the UK 2017” by The Sunday Times Magazine, Bristol is a friendly, safe, attractive city with a long and colourful history. It’s the perfect place for students: a vibrant year-round city with plenty to do whenever you visit, and medium-sized so it’s easy for new arrivals to get their bearings and feel at home quickly. Bristol has two excellent universities, hundreds of pubs and restaurants, both modern and traditional, museums, cinemas and green spaces. Bristol was European Green Capital in 2015. For “shopaholics”, Cabot Circus shopping centre and St Nicholas Market have everything you need. There’s always something going in Bristol – music festivals, Europe’s largest hot air balloon festival, a harbour festival, food festivals and more. For sports and outdoor activity fans, Bristol has two football teams, a rugby club, gyms, swimming pools, climbing, horse riding, mountain biking and a watersports centre in the harbour. Bristol is surrounded by places of interest: Bath, Oxford, Cardiff, Stonehenge and Stratford-Upon-Avon are all close and London is just 90 minutes away by train.
