As an organisation, International House World is dedicated to creating a space for affiliates that inspires innovation, embraces change and pushes boundaries to transform challenges into opportunities.
Earlier in 2024, we announced the launch of our IH Innovation Advisor role, a position which was awarded to Shaun Wilden. Shaun has a number of responsibilities in the position, including identifying and sharing good examples of innovation and digital learning within the IH network and identifying feasible project ideas, both individual and collaborative.
“Innovation is at the heart of IH World’s values,” commented Emma Hoyle, Managing Director of IH World. “And this award celebrates the creative and forward-thinking approaches our schools bring to language education. By highlighting the outstanding initiatives within our network, we hope to inspire even more schools to push the boundaries and continue setting new standards in our industry. We are excited to see the transformative projects that will be showcased, reflecting our commitment to fostering a culture of innovation One of Shaun’s key responsibilities in the role is to oversee the annual Mihai Laurențiu Gânj Award for Digital Innovation”
This award honours the memory of Mihai Gânj, the former Director of IH Bucharest, who sadly passed away in August 2023. Mihai was passionate about exploring innovative ways to manage his school and enhance the learning experience. In his honour, IH World has established this annual award to recognise excellence in digital innovation across two categories:
-
Digital Innovation in Language Teaching
This award celebrates groundbreaking digital tools or technologies that transform language teaching. We are looking for innovations that go beyond merely substituting traditional methods and instead create more engaging, interactive, and personalised learning experiences. -
Digital Innovation in Language School Management
This award recognises innovations that significantly enhance school management processes, whether in areas like student enrolment, scheduling, administrative tasks, communication, or financial management.
We are delighted to announce that applications are now open for the inaugural 2025 award. Please share the news with anyone in your IH network who might be interested in applying, we know there are amazing projects in progress and we want to hear from you.
