Over the past few months, due to travel restrictions, the demand for online learning has skyrocketed. With this, the need for qualified online tutors has also increased and many teachers have turned to the IH Certificate in Online Tutoring (IH COLT) to get qualified.
This 5-week course covers the demands of online asynchronous environments and the many ways synchronous tools can be used for teaching face-to-face online. You will learn the key terminology surrounding asynchronous platforms and look at techniques for monitoring students in the online environment and how to ensure participants are involved.
Here, some of our 2020 course graduates tell us why they would recommend the IH COLT to anyone who wants to get started in teaching online.

“On balance, the course works well. While I said I'd like more input, I recognise that the course is aimed at a range of competencies and experience with teaching and is relatively short. I liked the experiential aspect of the course and feel it's a very good way to get an introduction to online teaching / tutoring. Importantly, it's affordable and leads to certification.” – Lynda Beagle

“It is a challenging and thorough introduction to online tutoring. Thank you for a great course with very supportive tutors! I especially enjoyed the synchronous sessions – all very useful and more of those would be great if you could fit them in!” – Judy Glover
