OET has been developed specifically for 12 healthcare professions. Tests reflect real workplace tasks and relevant language skills.

During this webinar participants will have the opportunity to go through the Reading & Listening, Speaking & Writing parts of the test, learn practical skills to train candidates and ask the speakers specific questions.

OET Reading & Listening

This guide to OET Reading and Listening will cover test format, question types and strategies for all sections of both papers. Topics include key skills to develop, language areas for focus, question and answer analysis and demystifying clinical language. This presentation aims to prepare trainers to deal with the most common issues that arise when preparing candidates for the Occupational English Test.

OET Speaking & Writing

This guide to OET Speaking and Writing will cover test format and marking criteria for both papers. Focus will then move to developing an understanding of the implications of patient-centred care which constitutes the key to success in OET Speaking.

Ros Wright & Tom Fassnidge
Authors of the OET Skills Builder series (Express Publishing, 2020) designed to help candidates prepare for the Occupational English Test.

Ros works with a recruitment agency preparing overseas doctors to work in the NHS and is author of several medical English titles including Good Practice (Cambridge University Press, 2008). Ros is a former President of TESOL France and General Secretary of EALTHY and is currently a Trustee of IATEFL.

Tom is a writer, teacher and editor who has been preparing candidates for OET since its acceptance for registration by the NMC and GMC in 2017. He has been teaching since 2006 and has worked in the UK and Italy.
