Write Right

Many teachers struggle with how to approach the development of their students’ writing skills. Oftentimes the entire process, from start to evaluation, seems so daunting that some teachers opt to spend as little time on writing as possible, which is undeniably a disservice to students. On the other hand, student apathy and aversion to writing can just as easily sabotage a well-intentioned teacher’s efforts, making the whole situation all that more problematic. No one is born knowing how to write correctly in his or her native language, and therefore learning to do it in another language takes very deliberate guidance. Developing good English writing skills via a diligent, step-by-step process yields the best results, and this process begins way before pen meets paper.
