It is with great delight that we are announcing that IH Montpellier is the latest International House affiliate to join the network.
Many of you may already know as Claudia Adenet, the co-founder of the independent French immersion school, Institut Linguistique Adenet, joined us at the Directors’ Conference in London in May.
“IH Montpellier is a fantastic and valued addition to the IH network,” commented Emma Hoyle, Managing Director of IHWO. "Claudia and the team have built their school on many of the values that IH holds in high esteem. Their dedication to high-quality French language education is evident through their many accreditations and their happy students. We are very excited to add Montpellier to the IH World map.”
It is a real pleasure to welcome Claudia and her fantastic team into our global network and they will be a fantastic addition in terms of knowledge and quality. Claudia and her late partner Stefan Kaven founded the school in 1998, they went on to run it for 20 years together before Stefan passed away in 2018.
“The whole team and I are very proud to join the International House Network!” said Claudia. “We dedicate our time and energy to providing the best quality teaching services to our students and we feel highly rewarded and recognized in the language industry with this latest accreditation. In addition, meeting IH members at the Directors conference in London has been a real pleasure and an opportunity to share experiences with fellow members.”
IH Montpellier sits in the historic centre of the city on the Mediterranean coast of southern France. The city boasts a rich history and stunning landscapes surrounded by contrasting salt marshes and mountains. Montpellier’s beauty and the endless list of things to do and see is one of the best-kept secrets of southern France. Whilst many tourists flock to other southern French cities, Montpellier manages to avoid the influx and preserve its popularity with French locals, making it an ideal location to learn French in France.
The vibrant study abroad school offers year-round, high-quality French immersion courses and is accredited by various language school associations including EAQUALS, IALC and Groupement FLE. It is well-established in the international education industry and has received more than 35,000 students since it opened.
The school has a range of engaging French language courses including standard to long-term and intensive options in groups or one-to-one. They offer combination courses including French + Cooking, Business French, Teacher Training and exam courses and cater to teens over 16, adults and over 50s.
As a school that focuses on cultural immersion, they have an enticing social programme which prioritises providing a cultural experience alongside a good language education. The programme of events nicely compliments the courses and highlights surrounding landmarks. Students can discover world-class UNESCO sites like Pont du Gard, Avignon and Carcassonne, they can visit nearby regions and cities like Marseille and Provence. To show off the country’s gastronomie, there are plenty of tastings (wine, cheese, macaron) and cooking classes. Inside Montpellier, there are plenty of options to explore landmarks and get to know the city better as well as sporting excursions like canoe-kayak and pétanque.
Cultural immersion runs through their accommodation portfolio too with carefully selected homestays, student residences, aparthotels and university campus options.
The school provides excellent learning conditions including multimedia classrooms in a beautiful private mansion house in the very heart of Montpellier’s stunning historic centre. They have 40 computers, notebooks and tablets and Wi-Fi throughout the premises. Alongside the many facilities, they provide students with excellent resources including a self-learning centre and a small library with audio-visual material including CDs and DVDs.
We believe they will quickly become an integral part of the network. They embody many of the IH values including academic excellence and high-quality accreditations. Professional development for their staff is highly valued and prioritised with weekly development and exchange sessions. It is great to see our global network growing and the recognition of the quality seal that IH represents.
