IHWO partners with guard.me International Insurance to host 2017 Directors’ Conference in Toronto
The annual International House World Organisation (IHWO) Directors’ Conference takes place this year from 6-9 May in Toronto. Traditionally hosted by a different International House school every year, this year the event is being hosted by longstanding IHWO partner guard.me International Insurance. Delegates from 160 affiliate schools worldwide are invited to attend the first-ever IH Directors’ conference in the cultural and commercial centre of Canada.
Lucy Horsefield, COO of IHWO, said: “We have worked closely with guard.me for many years and really value their partnership and support. The conference is an opportunity for the owners and directors of schools in our network to catch up, share ideas, discuss challenges, and hear from leading industry speakers.”
The conference will take place at the InterContinental Toronto Yorkville, in one of Toronto’s most vibrant communities for business, education, arts and culture. The conference will feature a number of speakers presenting topics ranging from business growth and customer experience to marketing and branding, as well as management workshops and breakout sessions.
Keith Segal, President of guard.me International Insurance, said: “Holding the event in Toronto offers IH directors the chance to come together in one of the most multicultural and cosmopolitan cities in the world. Toronto is a fantastic destination and we are honoured to host IH delegates in our hometown.”
The exciting social programme is set to include a city tour of Toronto, dinner cruise along the harbour, evening events showcasing local cuisine and culture, and a gala dinner at Toronto’s famous castle, Casa Loma. There is also an optional wine tour of the Niagara region, including Niagara Falls. As per tradition, the annual Charity Auction will be held during the conference, this year raising money for the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. Last year, £7,750 was raised for YUVA’s Syrian Refugees Program.
