The IH Online Teacher Training Institute (IH OTTI) has started giving verifiable, digital certificates in order to make the post-course process more streamlined and secure for participants, as well as more environmentally friendly.
After participants have finished their course and moderation has taken place (usually around 6 or 8 weeks, depending on the course), they will be sent a unique link to their digital certificate which they can then easily download, print and share on blogs or social media.
The certificates issued are verifiable, digital certificates, meaning they are stored on a registered, verified site so there is no question of the authenticity of the certificate for a prospective employer, client, or anyone else the certificate is shared with.
IH OTTI has chosen to issue digital certificates to make things as simple and straightforward as possible for course participants. Traditional paper certificates can get lost in the post, arrive damaged or get misplaced. A digital certificate is much more safe and secure.
The move to digital is also in line with International House World Organisation’s promise to protect our planet through our Environmental Sustainability Scheme. By reducing our consumption of paper, ink and energy when printing and posting certificates, we are having a positive impact on the health of our environment.
