Who is it for?

• Qualified, experienced teachers wanting specific 1-2-1 training
• Newly-qualified teachers who will be teaching 1-2-1

Aim

To prepare teachers for working in a 1-2-1 teaching context, focussing on the main issues and techniques involved.

Content

It is a 50 hour course consisting of 30 hours of input over 10 modules and (at least) 20 hours of homework / portfolio tasks (reading, observation or action research), plus a post-course assignment.  It also includes 6-10 hours of teaching practice. Course length varies according to the Teacher Training Centre.

Structure and assessment

A portfolio compiled over the duration of the course. Plus, a final assignment which includes 1 hour of observed and assessed teaching practice, a written Needs Analysis and Student Profile, and a Course Plan with commentary.
