The reviews are based on real, unbiased student experiences, offering prospective students a transparent glimpse into the quality of language school offerings.

About International House Bristol

Director, Val Hennessy, started IH Bristol in 1987 as The Language Project while studying for her PhD.

It is primarily a study abroad English language school and teacher training centre in Bristol, in the southwest of England. They have 2 buildings, both within easy walking distance of all Bristol’s main sights and attractions. The vast majority of students travel from their home countries to study English and enjoy an authentic experience in a vibrant British city.

Based in the picturesque neighbourhood of Clifton (home to the University of Bristol) the school has a warm and welcoming atmosphere so it’s no surprise they received 5-star student feedback.

IH Bristol offers General and Intensive English, Cambridge English Exam preparation (PET, FCE, CAE, CPE), IELTS English Exam preparation and OET Exam preparation. Their Cambridge summer courses are extremely popular and since they are also an exam centre, students can prepare for and take their Cambridge exams for adults and juniors all in one place. For juniors, the team run summer schools in Bristol from June to August, as well as winter and spring programmes in January and April.

Accommodation

Most of IH Bristol’s students stay in homestay accommodation with a British host to experience UK culture first-hand and have the opportunity to practise what they learn at the school outside the classroom. Their welcoming hosts want students to feel like one of the family. The school prioritises the standards of accommodation and regularly visits all its hosts to ensure students are getting the very best experience possible.

Social Activities

This quirky city offers endless opportunities to explore and have fun. IH Bristol takes advantage of this and has designed a schedule of their favourite social activities so students can explore the best of the beautiful city while practising their English skills in real-life situations. Popular activities include their street art tour (including Banksy!), a trip to Clifton Suspension Bridge (stopping for traditional fish 'n' chips), museum visits, bowling, cream tea afternoons, BBQs, international food parties - and many more!

At weekends they run full-day excursions to places like Bath, Oxford, Cardiff and London, with walking tours of each city and free time for students to explore.

Congratulations to everyone at IH Bristol for winning this award. It's great to see such a dedicated school receiving recognition for their hard work.
