International House Cordoba is known locally as Academia Británica, and was the first International House to be founded by John and Brita Haycraft in 1953. Since that time the school has continued to grow and in 2010 opened a second school twenty minutes from the city centre which, like John and Brita’s first school, has met with great success. Between the two schools, over 3,000 students study English, French and German. They are also the local centre for the Cambridge ESOL examinations (CPE, CAE, FCE, PET, KET and YLE) in both written and computer-based formats.
The SIERRA school is a purpose-built premises occupying the ground floor of a newly built block of flats looking out over a wide avenue with gardens in the middle and views of the local mountain range. The school is modern and airy and since its inauguration in 2010 has grown due to demand and currently has 17 classrooms, library/study centre, interactive whiteboards, and a well-equipped staff room (with kitchenette). The building is fully air-conditioned, has central-heating, cable internet connection in all rooms and wifi throughout the school. The school teaches mainly English but also has French and German classes and some on-site business classes. You can take a virtual tour of the school here: https://goo.gl/JKAtXp
