IH Certificate in Teaching Business English (Online)

Who is it for?

  • Qualified teachers with little or no experience of teaching business English
  • General English teachers wanting to diversify into business English
  • Newly qualified teachers wanting to expand their teaching experience

Aims

To give participants the necessary skills and knowledge to start teaching business English.


Content

The IH BET course is run completely online and contains 30 modules divided into 3 strands: basic business awareness, professional skills and methodology and materials:

Structure & Assessment

There is no assessed teaching in this course. Candidates submit a post-course reflective assignment and a portfolio of seven tasks taken from the homework set in Strands 2 and 3 of the course. The final portfolio is moderated by the IH Assessment Unit. The course is run by qualified and experienced Business English teachers who hold an online tutoring qualification. The grading of the course is Pass or Fail.


Time Commitment

This is a 50-hour course if taken face to face. On average participants spend a minimum of 7 hours per week online and doing tasks.


Prices

IH staff: £250 (excluding VAT)

   £300 (including VAT)

Non-IH staff: £430 (excluding VAT)

            £516 (including VAT)

If the fee will be paid by a business outside of the UK, VAT can be deducted from the prices listed. Please enquire upon application.

 


Dates

  • Feb 4th 2017 to May 20th 2017 plus two weeks for the final assessment
  • May 6th 2017 to August 19th 2017 plus two weeks for the final assessment
  • October 21st to 10th February 2018 plus two weeks for the final assessment
