Galway is an ideal destination for your study abroad experience. IH Galway is a boutique language and teacher training centre located in a beautiful 18th century building which has been completely remodelled. We are based in the heart of Galway city centre on Eyre Square, right beside the shopping area, the medieval streets, the restaurants with typical Irish food - and the great pubs with traditional Irish music playing daily. It is just a short walk from IH to the beautiful Salthill Promenade, the 'Prom'. with spectacular views of Galway Bay and the Atlantic Ocean and where our students go for walks before or after class. Some of them even get in for a swim!
We can organise accommodation for you in one of our own residences, or in a homestay. If you're coming to Galway to work as well as study, we will help you with your CV, interview preparation and we will assist you in your job search in Galway. It is very easy to find work at the moment so the time is right for you to come to Galway"
You can join your General English course any Monday. Our lessons are engaging and interactive and you will quickly become confident speaking in class.
We are an exam centre for IELTS, Cambridge and OET (Occupational English Tests (which are specifically designed for healthcare professionals) and we are specialists in exam preparation courses. Let us help you
If you're looking for a summer course for your son or daughter, we can offer you a residential Junior Vacation (11-15) or Pre University Experience (16-18) project based programme, with lots of authentic use and a focus on vocabulary, speaking and writing development. including Academic English and an IELTS focus for the Pre University Experience.

Situated on the spectacular Atlantic coast, Galway is known as the 'City of the Tribes' and was founded by the Normans around 800 years ago. It is the only medieval city in the region and you can see many original streets and buildings when you walk around the city. Everywhere in Galway is accessible on foot and many of our students walk to school every day. Galway has a beautiful cathedral, which is situated on an island on the River Corrib, which is also famous for salmon fishing. The university, NUI Galway, is famous for different areas of study, including Marine Science and Engineering. Galway city has just under 80,000 inhabitants, 20% of whom are university students, and this small size means that the city has a really friendly atmosphere and is also very safe to walk around, even at night. Galway people love to speak with visitors and to hear about our students' lives, so you will get lots of speaking practice!
At the weekend, you can discover the Wild Atlantic Way. Why not take a boat to one of the beautiful Aran Islands, where you will hear people speaking in Gaelic, the traditional language of Ireland? If you like water sports, you can learn to surf, kayak, dive... Do you like walking? There are amazing routes in the city and around the surrounding areas. Discover Connemara, with its mountains and incredible beaches - Connemara captures the hearts of many of our students, who say is the most beautiful part of Ireland for them.
