We’re thrilled to announce that LDA Language Centre International House Torino has officially joined the International House network, bringing our community of affiliated language schools to 138 worldwide, and extending the IH presence to a vibrant new corner of Italy.

Based in Turin, in the heart of Piedmont, IH Torino is much more than a language school.

A School Built on Passion and Purpose

LDA Language Centre has deep roots in its community. Founded in 2004 under the name L’Albero di Antonia in the Pozzo Strada district of Turin, the school began with just two classrooms and a dedication to high-quality foreign language teaching. Over two decades, that dedication has grown into something truly impressive.

Today, IH Torino is a multifaceted organisation that serves young learners, teenagers, and adults in the local community. They are a certified Cambridge Gold Preparation Centre, a pioneering Teacher Training Centre, and in 2025, they launched their very own study abroad agency, LDA Viaggi, designing and managing language stays and international mobility projects for students, schools, families, and teachers alike.

It’s the kind of school that doesn’t stand still. And that spirit of continuous growth is exactly what IH is all about.

Recognition Built Over Time

In 2017, LDA Language Centre became an accredited member of AISLi (the Italian Association of Language Schools), which certifies and promotes excellence in language teaching. Then, in 2019, they were authorised as a Cambridge Assessment English Centre, becoming the first and only centre in Piedmont to deliver the Cambridge CELTA qualification. A genuine milestone, not just for the school, but for the entire region.

What Sets IH Torino Apart

The team has particular interest and expertise in two areas: young learners and teacher training.

Their competence in young learner and very young learner education, combined with a strong focus on inclusive approaches, is a real strength, and one that the broader IH network will be able to learn from and draw on. That’s the beauty of belonging to a global community: knowledge flows in every direction.

On the teacher training side, IH Torino runs the full suite: CELTA, DELTA, TKT CLIL, and TKT YLE. They also host free teacher training conferences and workshops for state school teachers, a generous, community-minded initiative that speaks volumes about who they are. Professional development isn’t a box to tick here; it’s woven into the culture of the school.

Their courses span General English and Cambridge exam preparation for young learners and teens, through to General English and Conversation classes for adults. And beyond their own four walls, they deliver programmes in partnership with local state schools.

Shared Values, Shared Vision

For Emma Hoyle, Managing Director of International House World Organisation, this affiliation felt like a natural fit from the start.

“IH Torino already shares so many of the International House core values: quality teaching, robust academic management, and a strong commitment to continuous professional development and consistent growth. We know they will be a wonderful addition to our global network and can’t wait to see where the future takes them with the support of IH.”

That sentiment is echoed by Virginia Rosetti, Director of IH Torino, who articulated precisely why becoming part of IH matters to her team:

“It is extremely important to us to enable our teachers and collaborators to connect with international teams, share best practices, and engage with a global community of professionals. We hope that joining IH will significantly enhance the quality of our services, not only because of the IH name, but because of the concrete improvements in training, standards, and professional culture that such a membership would bring.”

A Future of Exciting Collaborations

This affiliation is also a homecoming of sorts. IH Torino has long collaborated with fellow IH schools across Italy, the centres in this region share a strong alliance and a history of working together on projects. Now, those partnerships will flourish further under the IH banner, with greater visibility and a shared identity nationwide.

We’re proud to welcome IH Torino to the network. They arrive with a clear ambition, a genuine commitment to excellence, and the kind of community spirit that makes International House what it is.
