International House World Organisation (IHWO) is delighted to welcome three new affiliate schools to our global network: IH Tashkent, IH Fergana, and IH Navoi. This marks a significant milestone as it’s the first time International House has established a presence in Uzbekistan.

Also known collectively as the Thompson Learning Centres, these schools exemplify the standards of quality, professionalism, and continuous improvement that define the International House brand.

Founded in 2018 by Shakhzod Bakhodirov as a single learning centre in the heart of Tashkent, the Thompson Group has rapidly evolved into one of Uzbekistan’s largest and most respected providers of English language education. Today, under the leadership of CEO Shakhzod Ganiev, Operative Director Bobur Mirzairov, and Director of Students Isfandiyorbek Sultonboyev, the group employs around 1,000 staff across seven branches in Tashkent and two additional schools in Navoi and Fergana.

The schools offer a range of courses including General English for children, teenagers, and adults, IELTS preparation, and, more recently, SAT preparatio. With a strong reputation for academic quality and operational excellence, Thompson Learning Centres have become synonymous with effective English language teaching in Uzbekistan.

“The Thompson Learning Centres offer a high-quality and comprehensive educational experience,” said Emma Hoyle, Managing Director at International House World Organisation. “We are really excited to welcome this young, dynamic, and motivated team into our network and we are sure their professionalism and commitment will be an inspiration to the rest of the organisation.”

Affiliation with IH marks an important step in the group’s development, connecting it with an international network of excellence in language education and teacher training.

“A clear strategic focus, a like-minded team, and a well-structured system support our
continuous growth,” said Shakhzod Bakhodirov, Founder.

With demand for high-quality language education in Uzbekistan continuing to grow, the group has ambitious plans for the future. Building on their strong academic and operational foundation, they plan to expand into teacher training, offering internationally recognised qualifications such as CELTA and Delta.

In addition, the schools are exploring opportunities to offer additional foreign languages and are planning a major teacher training event later this year to launch their new teacher development initiatives.

“In 2026 alone, IH Uzbekistan plans to further revolutionise how English is learnt and
taught in Uzbekistan, helping hundreds of learners and teachers rise and lead. We truly believe that our professional development courses and training events will have a meaningful and lasting impact,” said Diyor Sultonboyev, Project Manager.

International House World Organisation is proud to welcome IH Tashkent, IH Fergana, and IH Navoi to our network and looks forward to supporting their continued growth and success.
