International House World Organisation is pleased to announce that IH Sydney Training Services Pty Ltd will be opening its seventh Australian campus in Adelaide, South Australia, in October 2022.

The leading provider of English-language, teacher-training, and career-focused education, IH Sydney Training Services continues to expand its reach across Australia with the opening of International House Adelaide.

In 12 years as CEO and owner of IH Sydney Training Services Pty Ltd, Tim Eckenfels has steered the company from a one-campus concern to seven campuses across Australia. Even during the pandemic, the company has seen huge growth and expansion in delivering both English language and vocational, career-focused courses including project management, leadership and management, business, social media and digital marketing.

Adelaide, the capital of South Australia, has become a top destination for international students. “After getting such great response to the opening of our new IH Gold Coast and IH Byron Bay campuses in 2021, we wanted to continue into South Australia,” said Mr Eckenfels.

Mr Eckenfels says the IH Adelaide campus will give students in South Australia the greatest opportunity to reach their language and educational goals. The new campus will offer English language courses, teacher training courses and our highly regarded vocational training courses in business – and business-related – subjects. Similar to other IH campuses in Australia, students will have an opportunity to improve their English skills, engage in English-language teaching, or complete targeted vocational education qualifications to be job-ready.

“Our reach is global, but our culture and approach are friendly and personal. That is why people travel from around the world to study with us and benefit from our expertise.”

There are many worlds to discover in South Australia. Adelaide is a cosmopolitan city of almost 30,000 inhabitants with broad, tree-lined boulevards and a meandering river with parklands. It is a capital city that is known for being friendly, affordable, and easily accessible.

“If you haven’t been to Adelaide, you need to go. It has a European feel with an Aussie vibe. Outside of class, students can go to the theatre, take a surf, head to the cricket or a winery, and then out for a high-quality meal. All happening within a one-hour drive from Adelaide.”

There’s always something going on in Adelaide, from its festivals – including the famous Fringe Festival, the Cabaret Festival and the Guitar Festival – to a food and wine culture that embraces half of Australia’s wineries!”

About Adelaide

Adelaide is one of the world’s most liveable cities. It is a cosmopolitan city with broad, tree-lined boulevards, built along a meandering river with parklands. It has everything a capital city offers and is friendly, compact, affordable, and easily accessible.

Adelaide has a European feel, a Mediterranean climate, and an Aussie vibe. After your class, you can go to the theatre, take a drive to surf at nearby beaches, head to the cricket, and then head out for a quality meal. There’s always something going on in Adelaide, from its festivals – including the famous Fringe Festival – to a food and wine culture that embraces half of Australia’s wineries.

“Adelaide is our next piece in the wonderful tapestry of Australia. It gives agents and their clients another student destination choice. Choice in the first instance – where and when to study – but also choice to move to follow the sun, work, vineyards, surf and so many more interests. At IH Sydney Training Services, you can move easily among any of our 7 campuses. This means you no longer need to choose between travel and study. Do both!”

What lessons have you learnt along the way which you might want to share?

“The COVID pandemic has reinforced how important our values and our mission are, and how it’s crucial to ‘walk the talk’. We aim to create a better world of global citizens through life-changing learning and shared experiences. We provide world-class education, service, and employment by connecting students, educators, and employees in caring and supportive environments throughout Australia.

“We are stronger through the contributions of people from all backgrounds and experiences. And part of that is listening to people and respecting people’s different perspectives. People value clear and consistent pathways in their education and career pathways.

“And close partnerships with agents and other partners have taught IH Sydney Training Services that students want to live different experiences within those secure and clear pathways. It is not only about the largest and most well-known cities but about diversity. About choice and a different environment that different people respond to.

“For instance, moving from ELICOS to career-focused courses with the same provider really adds value. And the opportunity to change destinations according to their needs, lifestyle, and plans in Australia. Start learning English in Melbourne and build on those skills with specific career-focused education in Byron Bay or the Gold Coast or, from 2022, in Adelaide.” Tim Eckenfels CEO and owner of IH Sydney Training Services Pty Ltd.
