The IH Study Abroad Event 2025: What You Missed
Our annual IH Study Abroad Event took place in the vibrant city of Palermo on the 5th and 6th of May. We were thrilled to welcome enthusiastic agents from across the globe, all eager to connect with our fantastic IH schools.
Attendees benefited from a comprehensive overview of study abroad programmes across multiple languages and continents. It was the perfect setting for sparking new collaborations and strengthening existing partnerships, with a programme featuring informative presentations and panels by industry leaders, dedicated meeting times with IH representatives, and valuable networking opportunities.
Palermo truly delivered, from the conference location at the beautiful and historic Grand Hotel et des Palmes, to exclusive networking events including the delightful welcome aperitivo at CitySea Palermo and the closing dinner with stunning views at Terrazze della Rinascente – Obicà.
The FAM trip to Catania offered an extra slice of Sicilian charm! Thank you to our hosts IH Language Centre Palermo and IH Team Lingue Catania for showing the agents and IH Study Abroad schools around their beautiful island.

Summer Courses on the Way for All Ages and Interests at IH Dublin
IH Dublin is getting ready for a vibrant summer in 2025, offering a wide range of courses for learners of all ages and backgrounds.
The Junior Summer Programmes, starting in mid-June, invite students aged 9 to 19 to take part in a full-immersion experience combining English classes, cultural excursions, and supervised activities. Programmes will run across Wesley College, Cork, and the new Maynooth campus, blending education with adventure in exciting, student-friendly settings.
For educators, the return of IH Dublin’s well-established Teacher Training Programmes brings expanded start dates and fresh course content. Options like AI in Teaching, CLIL, and Job Shadowing offer meaningful professional development in a collaborative, international atmosphere—ideal for Erasmus+ participants and teaching professionals looking to update their skills.
Meanwhile, adult learners can enjoy a more relaxed pace with the Young at Heart (50+) and Over 30s programmes. These combine age-appropriate language lessons with curated cultural and social activities, creating a well-rounded and enjoyable learning experience.
From young students to lifelong learners, IH Dublin’s summer programmes promise a dynamic and inclusive environment where language learning comes alive.
Family Courses at IH Torquay
IH Torquay are delighted to already have 22 families booked on English for Families programme. The course has several unique features, which make it very popular with families from all over the world:

IH Berlin: The Grand GLS Reception - November 2025
GLS / IH Berlin will host a grand reception in November 2025, immediately after the ICEF Berlin workshop — and you’re invited!
The reception will take place at the GLS / IH Berlin campus, nestled in one of the most beautiful and trendy districts of Berlin, offering a vibrant atmosphere for the event.
Join Barbara Jaeschke, her daughters, her team and fellow agents for an evening of great conversations, delicious food, and good company. The reception is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate a successful workshop and strengthen partnerships in a relaxed setting.
This special event marks the beginning of a new tradition: The GLS Reception will now take place every two years, with the next GLS receptions planned for 2025 and 2027.

IH Manchester Moves to Adult-Only Programmes
As of Monday 7 April, the minimum age of enrolment at IH Manchester is now 18.
The school took this decision to be able to focus specifically on meeting the needs of adult clients. They believe that adult-only programmes create an environment where mature learners can focus on personal, academic, or professional goals without the distractions of mixed-age classes.
Students share similar life experiences and motivation, which in turn leads to more meaningful connections and engaging discussions. Being surrounded by like-minded adults also enhances confidence, making it easier to practise English in real-life situations.
“You get to an age when it’s no longer energising being in class with teenagers, and we wanted to focus on the fun we could have with our students in this dynamic city of ours. Some activities weren’t suitable for 16- and 17-year-olds. This way, nobody misses out!” said Pete Hayes, Director of Marketing.
The school has already found that it is attracting many more mature students as a result.
In conclusion, we all agree with Peter Drucker when he says: “The aim of marketing is to know and understand the customer so well the product or service fits him and sells itself.”

IH Cape Town Powers Up Sustainability with Solar and Smart Recyling
IH Cape Town is proud to share two exciting sustainability updates that reflect their commitment to environmental responsibility and the creation of a more resilient learning environment.
To reduce their environmental footprint, they have installed 14 solar panels on the school premises. Each panel generates 600 watts, bringing the total capacity to 8,400 watts, and the system is supported by a 20 kilowatts storage battery and inverter. This solar setup now supplies 30–50% of the school’s daily energy needs. It’s an incredible amount of energy that is stored and used to keep the school running smoothly—especially during load shedding, a common challenge in South Africa where electricity is periodically cut. This ensures that classes, operations, and student life continue without interruption.
In addition, they’ve implemented a student-friendly recycling programme that encourages daily eco-conscious habits and instils a strong sense of environmental responsibility in their learners.
These initiatives are already making a meaningful impact and demonstrate that small, consistent actions can lead to real change. IH Cape Town state: “We hope our journey inspires similar efforts across the IH network.

These are the parallel courses to our GE15 and GE25 courses that run in the morning, giving students an opportunity to get up late, study hard in the afternoon and enjoy all the fun that Bangkok has to offer every night of the week!
Young Learners Summer Camp (16th June – 22nd August)
For 6 to 15 year olds – study English for the full day on Monday, Wednesday and Friday with special craft projects in the afternoon. Then on Tuesday go on an educational trip and enjoy a full on fun trip every Thursday.
