Rhythm

The results indicate that you are probably around B1.1 or IH Level 4 or Lower Intermediate.

Lower Intermediate learners can communicate in most everyday situations, although their vocabulary and grammar are still developing. They are beginning to deal confidently with authentic reading and listening.

You have been sent an e-mail with this result. If you asked for your results to go to a school they will have received the same e-mail, and will advise you on the best course for you. 

If you wish to advance your level with us, we have options to Learn Near You, where you can study an English language course in your home country. There are also Study Abroad options to learn English, in countries such as the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. If you choose to enrol, we wish you all the best!


Language levels A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2 are as defined by the CEFR, the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

A brief description of the CEFR and IH levels is given below.

CEFR Level A1

IH Level 1

Beginners can communicate at a minimal level. They can typically introduce themselves and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he or she lives, people he or she knows and things he or she has.

CEFR Level A2.1

IH Level 2

Elementary learners can communicate at a basic level, and can deal with some situations necessary for speaking in a natural language environment. You will typically be able to communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.

Level A2.2

IH Level 3

Pre-Intermediate learners can communicate adequately in simple everyday situations, and their vocabulary and ability to manipulate grammatical structures is developing. You will typically be able to communicate well in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.

Level B1.1

IH Level 4

Lower Intermediate learners can communicate in most everyday situations, although their vocabulary and grammar are still developing. They are beginning to deal  confidently with authentic reading and listening.

Level B1.2

IH Level 5

Mid Intermediate learners can communicate quite fluently in most everyday situations, and their ability to express complex ideas is developing.  

Level B2

IH Level 6

Upper Intermediate learners can use language consistently and appropriately, and have a good range of vocabulary and command of grammar. 

Level C1

IH Level 7

Lower Advanced learners have a good command of the language, and are fluent, accurate and well organised. They can use a wide range of language effectively and can easily comprehend natural spoken and written language.

Level C2

IH Level 8

Upper Advanced learners are developing an understanding of and an ability to produce subtleties and complexities of the language, although they may still require some work on accuracy. At the end of this level, students should be close to native English speaker competence.
