If you are looking to develop as a teacher, then IH Toruń is the school to work at. We offer teacher development sessions once a week as well as weekly free basic conversational Polish lessons with a qualified native Polish teacher. There are daily collaborative planning meetings with your fellow colleagues, regular peer, formal and video observations and also the chance to attend and even present at conferences as well as write for teaching magazines such as the IH Journal. For returning teachers there are also the opportunities to take the IH Certificate in Teaching Younger Learners and Teenagers (IH CYLT) and for more experienced teachers the IH Certificate in Advanced Methodology (IH CAM). Both courses are offered at heavily subsidised rates.
You will be teaching up to 25 hrs of English (25 x 45 mins) each week in a fun, friendly and supportive school. Your classes will most likely include a mixture of Young Learners (7-12) as well as teenagers (13-17) and adult students at varying degrees of CEFR levels. There may also be some 1-2-1 and in-company class teaching.
Your classes will mainly take place at our main school here in Toruń. However, twice a week some teachers will also have to commute to our satellite school in Inowrocław (45 mins away).
We welcome enthusiastic teachers who have some experience, though newly-qualified will also be considered.

Toruń is a beautiful city in North Central Poland and acts as a good central base to explore Poland as well its neighbouring countries. It is a friendly, historical city full of students and tourists and is famous as being the birthplace of Nicolaus Copernicus and also for its tasty gingerbread. The panoramic view of the old town from across the River Vistuala was voted as one of the "Seven Wonders of Poland". It's a great place to live full of bars, cafes, restaurants, shopping centres and cinemas (with films shown in the original language). It really is a home away from home. There is an international airport Bydgoszcz (BZG) 50km away which has direct flights to Birmingham, Dublin, Glasgow, London Luton and London Stansted. Other airports with good connections to Toruń include Gdańsk (GDN), Poznan (POZ), Warsaw Chopin (WAW) and Warsaw Modlin (WMI).
