Job Description

We are looking for a DOS for our Centre in Freiburg (Germany). The Director of Studies is responsible for development and implementation of Academic strategy of the Institution Akademie Zeitgeist in Freiburg and assisting to possible forthcoming partner schools in other cities of Germany. The position holder is responsible for provision of the methodological support within all campuses belong to Akademie Zeitgeist and both DaF and FOLA departments and to all teachers, supervision and improvement of the effectiveness of the educational process, introducing new standards in teaching methods, preparing the teaching materials, managing the teaching team and dealing with current and potential students, systematic maintenance of the highest quality standards. The position holder should teach 10 hours per week. The Director of Studies is finally responsible for all Examinations and Certifications that can be taken at the school.

About the school and City

Akademie Zeitgeist has recently taken over the IH School in Freiburg (southwest of Germany). The school was branded as "Sprachschule Zum Ehrstein" before and was founded 1999. The main focus of the school is teaching German as a Foreign Language (DaF) to foreigners, although FoLa-Courses are offered as well. Courses are offered for adults as well as for foreigners. 
Freiburg is located in the southwest of Germany - close to the French and Swiss border. The lively University of Freiburg is the sunniest city in Germany. The city is a historic jewel in the middle of the black forest. Places like Strasbourg (France) or Basel (Switzerland) are less than one hour away.
