IH February Webinar: "Safeguarding Students Online"

IH Members' Area
14 February 2020
12:00 to 13:00

The next IH Webinar is on the topic of Safeguarding Students Online and will be delivered by Jen Dobson on Friday 14th February at 12:00 GMT.

This was a topic that generated lot of discussion at the YL conference in November, and it’s such an important area we will be returning to it in the coming months. Xana de Nagy, our YL Coordinator, will be conducting some research with a view to providing the advice and guidance that people feel they need most.

The webinar has been structured in a way that you’ll be able to use it in your own teacher development sessions. (Just mute the sound, and use the scenarios to discuss in your school groups). Topics of sharing data, privacy, use of images in social media and sources of further support are covered.

Jen Dobson is a freelance ELT author, trainer and consultant. She has over 30 years’ experience in teaching, including as an ICT coordinator, and has a special interest in early years and safe, creative edtech. Her publications include ‘Mouse and Me!’ and ‘Archie’s World’ for Oxford University Press.
