In this session, Dalia will discuss how feedback can influence the learning process. She will talk about corrective feedback that might demotivate the students if given insensitively. This session investigates the other interrelated purposes of feedback along with the correction purpose. Motivating learners, improving fluency and developing an autonomous learner should be objectives to consider achieving when giving feedback. It will also focus on when and how to give feedback to ensure its sufficiency and effectiveness. Participants will walk away with different types of feedback techniques suitable for varied teaching contexts.
Trainer: Dalia is a teacher and CELTA tutor. She is the senior academic coordinator at Pharos University in Alexandria (PUA); her role involves mentoring and training teachers, developing the curriculum from A1 to C2, and following up on educational quality . She is a graduate of the Faculty of Education, English Department. She has experience teaching different age groups; she taught students from the national and international sector. She has also taught adults in one to one courses as well as at C1 level. Dalia is also an active member of the Professional Development Unit at the university. She has trained pre-service and in-service teachers in different contexts: language centers, schools and universities. In 2021, Dalia presented at the 7th annual ELT Ireland conference. Dalia has been part of the IH Cairo teacher training programs for schools.

Trainer: Dr. Marwa Abdel Mohsen is the Head of Language and Translation Department at the College of Language and Communication at the AASTMT. She specializes in Testing and Assessment and teaches Linguistics, Phonetics, Translation, and Language Assessment in graduate and post graduate levels. Dr. Abdel Mohsen also gives assessment training sessions to novice and experienced teachers at school and college levels in several teacher training courses. Her current area of interest in research is online assessment.

He has a BA degree in English literature and TESOL Methodology K-12 from University of Maryland. Mahmoud has been utilizing technology in teaching English since 2018. Throughout his career, he could experience various tools, websites, and approaches to use when teaching language skills.
