IH Brno Young Ones Conference 2024

We are pleased to announce that the annual ILC IH Brno The Young Ones conference dedicated to teaching young learners will take place on Saturday 9th November 2024.

The event returns with a great lineup of local experts, publishers, ILC IH Brno trainers and guest speakers from the IH network. The theme for 2024 is "Nurturing Young Minds and Empowering Educators" and there will be 12 workshops.

As usual, the conference is a great chance to share ideas, gain knowledge and build energy and enthusiasm for the academic year ahead. You will leave with a folder full of ideas for your classroom.

• Sylvie Doláková, a freelance teacher and trainer, is bringing movement and play into the classroom - because learning should be fun!
• Sabrina Bottai is making her conference debut with us! As an ILC IH Brno superstar, Sabrina has poured her heart into crafting an activity bag packed with imaginative and playful ideas for your classroom.
• Fernanda Borba, the newest Deputy Director of Studies and Deputy Managing Director at ILC IH Brno, is known for her boundless creativity and infectious energy. She is here to prove that English and origami make a perfect pair, blending arts and crafts with language practice.
• Šárka Cox is joining us with a wealth of experience from Masaryk University. Having previously helped countless ILC teachers navigate and thrive in their young learner classrooms, Šárka is a true go-to guide for teaching young learners. She is here to help us maximise student engagement in grammar lessons, making them more interactive and enjoyable.
• Martina Weissbergerová from Oxford University Press, is bringing her renowned expertise to ILC IH Brno! With a track record of delivering engaging and insightful sessions, Martina’s workshops are always packed with practical ideas. She is all set to show you how to combine learning and play for the best results.
• Ben Herbert from British Council is back by popular demand! His engaging and insightful presentations have left a lasting impression, and this year’s workshop promises to be just as memorable. Get ready for more of Ben’s brilliance and inspiration, this time exploring pronunciation games that will have your students speaking clearly in no time.
• Pete Nobbs is a  true ILC IH Brno star, Pete’s session was so popular last year that it even inspired a repeat performance at IH Torun. This year, he is here with practical icebreakers that will get your young learners talking and interacting from the start.
• Pavla Milerski is back, and we’re absolutely thrilled! With her wealth of experience that has guided many ILC IH Brno teachers from rookie to pro, she’s a true expert. After a short break, she’s returning with a session full of revision activities that require minimal prep but deliver maximum impact.
• Anna Sigmund is another gem from ILC IH Brno, Anna’s session last year was so well-received that we couldn’t wait to have her return. This time, she’s bringing a workshop that combines arts and crafts with English language teaching, promising to spark creativity and enhance your lessons.
