CETA Symposium

Online
12 September 2020

This year, the Cambridge English Teaching Awards (CETA) Symposium was due to be hosted by International House Mexico. However, due to these extraordinary times, IH Mexico has joined the CETA committee to help run the Symposium completely online this year – and will host the event in person in 2021.

The one-day CETA Symposium aims to bring together tutors, assessors and moderators from centres worldwide to provide an opportunity to share experiences of delivering the Cambridge English Teaching Awards, primarily CELTA, DELTA, CAM, CELT-P, CELT-S and TKT. This year´s focus will be online education and CELTA online.

The Symposium will provide a forum to share 'good practice' among course providers, discuss current issues and problems encountered in course delivery, and to learn about new innovations in the field. It also provides a platform to 'voice' ideas and consider future directions.

The event is particularly important during the current pandemic when training courses are being conducted online and decisions taken now will shape the future direction of the Cambridge Teaching Awards. CELTA online will receive a special mention and focus during the symposium. Trending topics to include are:

  • Flipped Training
  • Blended and Online Training
  • Online CELTA Management and Course Design
  • CELT-P & CELT-S online courses
  • TKT course design, delivery and training online
  • CELTA online criteria
  • Feedback delivery and Observation process on Zoom
  • Freelancing for Trainers and Training beyond Cambridge Diversity
  • Teacher Training Delta Online

If you are a CELTA trainer or assessor and would like to join the online CETA on September 12th either as an attendee or speaker, please email Orlando from IH Mexico at orlando@ihmexico.com

If you cannot join the event live online, the sessions will be recorded and made available soon after the event. International House Mexico will be hosting the next symposium face to face in Mexico City in 2021! Stay tuned!
