This session will examine the often tricky topic of delegation within organisations. We will look at what delegation actually is, what can cause delegation to fail, and how failure can be reduced. We will consider some Golden Rules for delegation and whether they would be applicable in our context. Note: This session is intended to be directly relevant to your own particular school. To help with this, I would ask you to consider a potential area of your work which you feel you could delegate, and reflect on this a little prior to the session. Why have you selected this particular area? Who might you consider delegating to? What problems might delegation of this particular area bring along with it? You will be asked to return to these reflections during the session.
