Qualifications

The minimum requirement for International House teachers is the CELTA, Trinity TESOL, IHC or equivalent initial qualification.


To meet the International House requirements initial Teacher Training courses must:

• Be externally validated by a reputable examination body (a university, recognised examination board or other body with Royal Charter)
• Have 6 hours of observed and assessed teaching practice (ie. teaching practice where a qualified assessor observes the trainee teaching real students and gives feedback on their performance)
• include at least 110 hours of face-to-face ELT input from a suitably qualified trainer
• Have a minimum entry level for participants of IELTS 8 or CEFR C1
