Our main school, International House Bangkok, opened in 1999. It is conveniently located in the heart of Bangkok and is ideally situated for students to enjoy the sights and sounds of this lively and exotic city. We are a minute’s walk from the two main forms of public transportation in Bangkok (BTS and MRT).

IH Bangkok is special in that we are a medium sized school when it comes to teaching English, but we also train over 500 CELTA trainees every year. We select only the best one-percent of the 500 CELTA teachers to then work at our school, ensuring the highest quality of teaching. You can also combine your studies at both our schools, with part of your studies in Bangkok and part of your studies in Chiang Mai.

Both IH Bangkok and IH Chiang Mai offer a wide range of courses – Intensive Courses - General English 15 (15 hours a week of General English), General English 25, IELTS 25 and Business English 25, which all include the GE 15 in the morning, with 2 hours of class in the afternoon. We also offer a combination of 15 hours General English plus private 1:1 in a subject of your choice. We give 1:1 or small group preparation classes for all Cambridge English examinations as well as GED, IGCSE, SAT, IELTS, TOEFL and TOEIC. For new and experienced teachers we offer the CELTA and DELTA teacher training programmes. Finally, we are delighted to offer tailor-made courses to suit all kinds of closed groups.

The City

Bangkok is a very exciting, yet very safe city and there is always something new to do. It is also very lively and there are people everywhere!

The type of restaurants you can find here range from USD$2 per dish street food to fine dining restaurants that can set you back $300 for two people. With some of the nicest malls in the world and really cool cinemas, you can experience luxury unmatched in most cities around the world. But there are also uniquely Thai experiences such as temples, floating markets, tuk tuk tours, street food, Thai museums, the Grand Palace, and more. Lastly, Bangkok is in the middle of the country so a quick 1 hour flight will take you to multiple islands or a 2 hour bus will take you to the beach. The school is located in the very middle of the city so you are right in the mix of it all.
