IH Lisbon, set up in 1963, is one of the founding schools of the IH World Organisation. It occupies an independent building in a mixed commercial and residential area of Lisbon, just a walk away from Edward VII Park, the Gulbenkian Foundation and Gardens and the Corte Inglés. Apart from English, it teaches French, German, Spanish and Portuguese as a Foreign language. In addition it has a vibrant teacher training department with all-year round CELTA courses and part-time DELTA and IHCYLT courses. As from January 2012 it will also be offering online CELTA courses.
Lisbon, a veritable jewel, overlooking the broad expanse of the Estuary of the River Tagus, offers an immense variety of cityscapes, architectural delights and entertainment. It is located within easy reach of some of the finest beaches in Europe and has a climate which is the envy of many of the other citizens of the Iberian Peninsula. A city of manageable size; easy to get around in on foot or using the excellent underground system.
IH Lisbon is situated at two minutes from São Sebastião metro station which serves both downtown Lisbon and the newest quarter of Lisbon created specifically for Expo ‘98. The school occupies three floors of an independent building and has 16 classrooms, computer room, area for relaxation with food
