Job Description IH Bogota is a relatively new school that has been set up by IH Barcelona in collaboration with IH Mexico and local partners. The school is located in a stunningly beautiful building in the centre of La Candelaria - the city's historic district.
IH Bogota offers a wide range of courses including English courses for adults and younger learners; in-company English courses; Spanish courses for foreigners and teacher training courses for teachers of both English and Spanish. IH Bogota also offers Net Languages Internet-based English and Spanish courses and the school also has a study abroad department.
We are looking for suitably qualified senior EFL teachers (minimum qualification CELTA but preferably DELTA/Diploma qualification) and extensive teaching experience (min. two years). Varied experience (e.g. with exams, business English, young learners) and other qualifications (e.g. CELTYL or UCCLES examiner status) will be valued.

We are looking for a suitably qualified ADOS (minimum qualification DELTA/Diploma qualification) with extensive teaching experience (e.g. with general english, exams, business English, young learners) Other qualifications (e.g. CELTYL, UCCLES examiner status) will be valued. Additionally, some prior experience of training and coordination of other teachers is vital.
The ADOS will be assisting the DOS and senior teachers in the general administration of the academic department (including timetabling of classes, testing and monitoring of students, resourcing, and other projects such as conversation club etc.)
The ADOS will additionally be involved with assisting with the development of less experienced teachers, including help with lesson- planning and day to day queries, lesson observation and feedback and providing training sessions as part of the INSET (training) programme.
The ADOS may be involved in UCCLES examinations and the CELTA programme as appropriate to his/her experience and the schools needs.

Job Description IH Riviera Maya is based in Playa del Carmen, a delightful town on Mexico's stunningly beautiful Caribbean coast.
The school, which was set up in 2003 as a joint venture between IH Barcelona and IH Mexico, offers a range of courses including year-round Intensive Spanish courses, CELTA and TKT training courses, and English courses to the local community. IHRM is also a Cambridge exam centre.
This position involves:
• Working as a trainer on 6-7 CELTA courses per year and doing the course administrative work required by centres, for all courses.
• Helping to recruit, interview and process CELTA candidate applications (in collaboration with IH Barcelona).
• Tutoring on development and training courses (including TKT, exam preparation, and academic coordination courses) in and around Playa del Carmen as required.
• Responsibility for recruiting ‘free-lesson’ students for teaching practice on CELTA courses.
• Responsibility for promoting and assisting with organising Cambridge exams, as well as invigilating exams as needed.
• In-service training and coordination of the (very small) English dept.
• Some occasional teaching (e.g. on exam preparation courses) may also be required, when not training.
The contract period is 24 months (renewable). Return flight paid at the end of this period (if leaving). Salary from 18,000 to 25,000 Mexican pesos per month (depending on experience and responsibilities each month).
Accommodation will be provided free for the first 4 weeks. Help with finding something more permanent will also be provided.
Holidays and sickness pay as per standard Mexican employment contracts.
The ideal candidate would be an experienced CELTA trainer, have fluent Spanish (or at least the ability to learn fast) and have experience working with non-native teachers of English. Experience as an oral examiner for Cambridge exams will also be an advantage.

Job Description International House San Sebastian is looking for a YOUNG LEARNERS’ COORDINATOR from September 2010 onwards.
Students from the age of six up to school-leaving age account for approximately 75% of the current student body of the company. Most of the YL teaching activities are carried out on company premises but a growing number of students receive tuition in their own school or on special summer activities.
The YLC will work closely with the other members of the Education Department and will be directly responsible to the Director of Education.
Overall responsibilities of the post:
• To co-ordinate the day to day operations of the YL area and to ensure the smooth running of the different YL activities.
• To analyse and propose and carry out improvements to the current curriculum, syllabus, course design (including piloting and selection of course materials) and course delivery (teaching, methodology) and assessment process concerning YLs.
• To liaise with the Director of Teacher Training and other members of the company’s staff and to organise the IHYLC and other training activities that are considered necessary for the YL area.
• To propose, plan, implement & manage a “students of school-age” structure that facilitates the management of needs and activities implicit in this dept, by simplifying, improving efficiency and aligning YL courses with other courses offered by the company.
• To provide educational support to the present team of Building Directors of Studies – this may involve workshops and seminars, observation and coaching of members of the teaching staff.
• To liaise with the Director of Marketing on all issues involving the communications with the sponsors of our YLs and to contribute to the promotion of courses and activities for YLs.
• To suggest and work on the development of new products for YLs.
• To carry out the appropriate liaison both internally and externally with outside bodies such as the Basque Government etc.
• To effectively liaise with other areas of the company, both admin and educational
• To take an active role in the working group that will be set up in October 2010 which will oversee the area of technology applied to our teaching. To help appropriately assess, train staff for, apply, monitor, update, and assess the impact of any educational technology which improves our service to clients and to directly contribute to transform current practices accordingly.

Job Description IH BELFAST is a relatively new school that opened in March 2007. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of the IHLS Group of schools (which includes IH Barcelona) and benefits from that organisation’s input and support. The school offers a range of Intensive English courses for adults including General English and Executive English programmes as well as some Modern Languages courses and a Study Abroad programme. We also offer 8-9 CELTA courses per year and two summer programmes for teenagers. The school building is located in the University district of Belfast, just south of the city centre. Apart from the reception area, teachers’ room and administration offices, there are 12 large classrooms, a computer room for students use and a small kitchen/dining area. The school has a core of permanent full-time teachers, supplemented by part-time and/or temporary teachers according to demand.
JOB SPECIFICATION: • Design and supervise the implementation of all English teaching programmes (in collaboration with IH Barcelona). • Help recruit teachers as and when necessary • Help reception staff give information • Test and place new students. • Ensure that students are happy and learning well, deal with their problems and be available for them to talk to. • Monitor teaching standards, organise teachers' meetings and in-service training, observe classes, etc.). • Help new teachers settle in. • Organise students and teachers timetables (together with the school director). • Teach as and when necessary • Train on CELTA courses in low season (if qualified) • Organise substitutions when necessary • Control the budgets for all teaching materials • Help and advise in the development of new products and courses. • Help to organise and run the school’s social programme.
It should be stressed that the job is a demanding one, although it is also potentially very rewarding and offers many opportunities for development. Flexibility is required as far as the time-table is concerned, but a minimum 40-hour week should be expected with most work taking place in the mornings and afternoons.
