Large and beautiful, it is the main city of East-Central Ukraine.

The city is surprisingly green along the wide and slow-moving Dnipro river and has remarkable embankments, long boulevards and spacious parks. The city is not only famous for its commercial industry, but also its green hills and deep history. The old fortress settlement has existed since the middle of the 16th century. The new town was founded in 1776 by the Russian Prince, Potemkin by order of Catherine II, Empress of the Russian Empire and was called Yekaterinoslav (Ekaterinoslav) from 1776 to 1926.

IH Dnipro tries to find teachers accommodation in the centre of the city within walking distance of the school and market, not to mention a wide range of restaurants and cafes. Something for everyone’s tastes - Japanese, Spanish, Chinese, Pizza, MacDonalds and of course Ukranian. All very reasonably priced. The city also has plenty of bars and nightclubs with everything from Jazz to Heavy Metal. Finally if you want to relax you can take a short tram ride to the Tsunami Spa and Gym to enjoy a sauna and massage.
