Dilit International House - Rome

The first IH Day on Teaching Italian, organised by Dilit International House, is open to all IH schools offering Italian classes or intending to do so. It will take place on Friday 26th September from 9.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. at DILIT IH and will be held in Italian.

1. Entry testing: ways and aims
2. Syllabus and the Common European Framework
3. A new teaching activity "Oral rebuilding of a written text"
4. Young Learners: prospects and methodology
5. Using the Internet
6. (Other topics suggested by those taking part)

In order to have the widest possible view of what constitutes the teaching of Italian across IH we would strongly urge DOSes and teachers to contribute to the Day with presentations, particularly with regard to points 4, 5 and 6. Whoever would like to do so please let Luigi Micarelli know (dos@dilit.it). Each presentation should last about 45 minutes.

IH London are delighted to announce that they will be holding their first Modern Languages Conference on Saturday November 3rd!

The annual IH Young Learners' Conference will be held in Torres Vedras, Portugal from Thursday 22nd November to Saturday 24th November, 2007. Join your colleagues from IH schools worldwide for updates on teaching techniques within the YL sphere!

IH Berlin-PROLOG have very generously offered to host the first Modern Languages Conference (MLC) which will be held from Wednesday November 16 to Friday November 18. The aim of the MLC is to attract as many IH schools as possible that teach other languages in addition to, or instead of, English. The draft programme of presentations include sessions on Cross Cultural Awareness, Methodology in ML and New Media in use.
