Q - Why study with IH Study Abroad? One of the unique aspects that sets International House apart from other schools is the prestigious history of our schools and our role in pioneering and nurturing a modern approach to teaching languages: 16 of them taught intensively (more in local schools), with new languages added all the time. In addition, we are proud of our most important asset, the teachers, who after having met our stringent selection process are proven experts in ensuring our students get the most out of their language course. Our impressive state of the art facilities and resources provide an excellent environment for learning, encouraging students to spend time outside the classroom developing their language skills. Our schools also use the latest multimedia and computer resources to make your lessons stimulating and motivating. The international student mix in IH Study Abroad schools means it is easy to meet fellow students from many different countries with the language you are learning as the common language. Q - How do I know the School I've chosen is a good school? Each of our schools must meet our rigorous Quality Standards which ensures that the quality of its teaching, resources and most importantly of all, its treatment of its students, is second to none. International House has built its reputation not on flashy marketing campaigns but from the communicated experiences of students who have benefited from the skills and knowledge of our teachers and their methodology and returned time and again, learning new languages in new cultures. Q - What's the best way to learn a new language? It certainly isn't by reading a textbook alone. It's by living the culture
and language and that can of course only be done in the country itself.

Whether your language skills are rusty, fluent, or you are an absolute
beginner, our tried and tested placement testing system has proven time
and again to be effective at finding this out for you. We at International
House appreciate that being tested for your language ability can initially
be intimidating and that's why out testing system is as friendly and informal
as possible. Q - If teachers don't speak my language, how can they teach me? Our communicative methodology pioneered since our founding in 1953 and constantly updated since then has retained one key quality: we only use the target language in the classroom. All of our teachers are especially trained to teach you without using your native language. Q - Who do I contact if I want to study with International House?
