IH Toronto organised their own fundraising activity to support the victims of the Japan earthquake in March. The school’s staff made traditional Canadian pancakes and sold them with a juice or soda, in exchange for a donation from students.
All the staff were involved in making and ladling batter, frying the pancakes and smothering them in maple syrup, under banners stating ‘Cheer Up Japan’. In total the school raised a very impressive $1,113.55 (£707.78) in one day, for the people of Japan.
