Inspired by one of our teachers, Amanda Jones, who is running the local half-marathon to raise money for cancer research (http://www.justgiving.com/amanda-jones12), IH Santander has got into a charitable mood, and are in full-swing to raise money for sending books to a community library in Ghana. Another athletic-minded colleague, Adam Beale, has decided to dedicate his participation in the half-marathon for this cause.
Meanwhile, the rest of us who aren’t quite as sporty, have taken charge of feeding the bellies of students and teachers alike. Shrove Tuesday fell this month so we used that as an excuse to mass produce pancakes for nice little snacks pre or post-class. Parents, students and staff were asked to donate a little for a delicious treat, and then vote for their favourite! Continuing the food (and drink) theme, we are also going to be organising a pub quiz with the purpose of amusing, entertaining and stumping the brains of even the best trivia nerds, all for a good cause.
