IH Santander raises money for Spanish earthquake victims

IH Santander took part in the IH Action Day to raise money for the people of Lorca in the South of Spain, who had recently lost their homes in an earthquake.

They organised a number of events; students could try to beat their classmates at football by shooting from the penalty spot, do “keepy uppy” with a tennis ball and racquet, buy and sell books they had brought in, buy some lovely home cooking, and finally, guess the staff member by looking at baby photos.

All the events were popular, with the penalty kicks and “keepy uppy” being a big hit with the younger learners and the book sale and baby competition the most popular with the adults. The record for keeping the ball in the air (while standing on one leg!) was 6 minutes and for the penalty shootout was 13 goals in one minute.

In the end 112€ was raised for the Lorca Earthquake fund, and the students had a lot of fun at the same time.
