IH Berlin has been raising money to support a small West African school in Tin-Akoff, Burkina Faso, since 1994. Over the years their fundraising has helped pay for a school cook to ensure the children receive one hot meal per day. It has also helped supply all the writing materials students may need, as well as a small clinic where the local people can have access to medical help.
The money raised by IH Berlin has helped finance a millet silo that ensures that, even when crops have been poor, the local people can afford to buy millet to feed their families. A sponsored seed, fruit and vegetable garden provides food for the local people and any surplus produce is shared out between students.
